How are Botox Cosmetic and Dysport used cosmetically?

Botox cosmetic and Dysport are trade names for the purified protein called Botulinum toxin. Their effects are very similar; in fact, it would be extremely difficult to look at a person who has had an injection of one of these medications and be able to tell which one was used. They are both used cosmetically for the treatment of severe frown lines, and have many off label uses as well. As mentioned previously these uses include treatment of wrinkles on the forehead and crow’s feet as well as other areas.

A Botox injection or a Botox shot is the manner in which Botox is administered. Very small quantities of Botox are injected through extremely small needles resulting in a nearly painless experience. Searching for a reputable doctor who has experience in performing Botox injections is something that should be done with extreme care. Although there are many centers and clinics where Botox injections are given, you should look for an experienced doctor that provides this service and you should not simply look for the cheapest price. Unfortunately, the current laws in some states are fairly lax with regard to who can administer Botox injections as well as perform other cosmetic treatments.
