Southeastern Dermatology Consultants is the areas exclusive provider of this remarkable new treatment.. This non invasive, dual laser device is the first FDA approved laser for the treatment of cellulite. A Smooth Shapes treatment is non-invasive and essentially painless. A series of six to eight treatments in an area, which will require two treatments per week, will provide the patient with impressive and lasting results.

Dermatologists have observed circumferential thigh reduction of one to three centimeters in patients who have undergone the full course. The Smooth Shapes device can also be used on the abdomen and is being used in conjunction with Smart Lipo.

Omnilux Photo Therapy Unit

Another new device used at the Southeastern Dermatology Consultants is the Omnilux Photo Therapy Unit. This photo therapy unit uses different LED (light emitting diode) treatment heads to perform what is known as Photo Modulation. This treatment is excellent for treating acne and rosacea. It can also be used to carry out Photo Dynamic Therapy. When using photo dynamic therapy, a photosensitizing medication (Metvixia or Levulan) is applied to the areas in need of treatment. Then, after an incubation period which can last from one to three hours, the Omnilux light source is used to activate the medication used. This treatment is excellent at removing pre-cancerous lesions known as actinic keratoses. It is also an excellent treatment for photo rejuvenation, severe acne, and excessively oily skin.

Xtrac Laser

Southeastern Dermatology Consultants also offers the Xtrac Laser which is a 308 nanometer excimer laser that effectively treats psoriasis and vitiligo. This treatment is very precise and often, the cost of the treatment is covered by medical insurance.
