Regardless of whether you’re looking to illuminize, rejuvenize or vitalize your skin, a SkinMedica chemical peel delivered by Dr. Doppelt and the professionals at Southeastern Dermatology will give you the results you crave for smooth, even skin. Chemical peels are delivered by a physician, nurse or esthetician and is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Sun exposure, acne, or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred.
How Does A Chemical Peel Work?
A chemical peel uses a solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers to reveal younger, more even looking skin underneath. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on the hands and neck.
A chemical peel can help improve:
- Acne or acne scars
- Age and liver spots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Freckles
- Irregular skin pigmentation
- Rough skin and scaly patches
- Scars
- Sun-damaged skin
It’s also important to note that a chemical peel will not:
- Treat deep facial lines
- Tighten lose or sagging skin
- Remove broken capillaries
- Change pore size
- Remove deep scars
Dr. Doppelt’s office delivers three varieties of SkinMedica chemical peel, each designed to deliver varying results based on the recipient’s need and desired effect.
SkinMedica Illuminize Peel
The Illuminize peel is appropriate for resolving minor skin imperfections and can brighten the overall appearance of skin and give patients a more uniform complexion. Many patients notice radiant looking skin after one peel. There is no expected downtime with the Illuminize peel and the skin is treated with gentle ingredients including salicylic acid, mandelic acid, resorcinol, malic acid, panthenol and Quillaja Saponaria bark extract.
SkinMedica Vitalize Peel
The Vitalize peel can smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and roughness. Results are generally noticeable after just one peel and are compelling after a series of three to six peels. Peels can be applied every three to four weeks, allowing you to achieve maximum results in just a few months. Ingredients including salicyclic acid, resorcinol, lactic acid and panthenol smooth the skin during treatment.
Southeastern Dermatology also offers three chemical peels by SkinCeuticals, the award winning and best selling physician grade line of skincare products.
SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel
The Advanced Corrective Peel is ideal for people with all skin types concerned with mild to moderate signs of aging such as stubborn discoloration or uneven tone and texture. With a proprietary blend of salicylic, lactic and resorcinol, this treatment effectively renews the skin’s surface for an overall brighter look, smoother texture, smaller pores, and clearer skin.
SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel
Our newest and most intensive peel, the SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel is a deep superficial peel that comprehensively exfoliate dead, dry skin cells and improve advancing signs of aging. Improvement in the appearance of moderate to advancing fine lines and wrinkles while fading stubborn discoloration and hyperpigmentation is noticed with 1 treatment, although we recommend a series of 3 for best patient results.
The peel is made up of 15% TCA, a deep penetrating acid that can show significant improvement of multiple skin indications, and 3% Glycolic acid, a keratolytic that enhances peel penetration. These work together for a deep superficial exfoliation.
