What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are substances that are injected into the skin to improve the appearance of wrinkles. They can also be used to improve or enhance volume in the skin.
There are many different substances which are used as dermal fillers. And it is important that patients know that these injections should be administered by a trained and qualified professional like Dr. Doppelt. Moreover, it is important that the injector understands the various differences between the substances being used. This is crucial because of the differing properties in each of the dermal filler substances and the way they react.
Dermal fillers can be used throughout the face and also in the areas like the hands to enhance the appearance. Typical treatment sessions involving dermal fillers are relatively painless and provide immediate, results, which may last for many months or years depending on the products used and the location of the injection.
Before & After Dermal FillersThe downtime following a dermal filler injection is usually very minimal or non-existent. Bruising, which may take one to two weeks to fade away, is the most common side effect. Immediately after the injections, it is common for patients to experience a firm feeling in the tissue. However, this normally goes away within several days as well.
The two most important aspects a person considering dermal fillers should be aware of are the qualities of the products being injected as well as the person administering the injections. In view of this significance, Dr. Doppelt personally performs all of his dermal filler injections at his office, Southeastern Dermatology. As a testament to his dedication towards patient safety and satisfaction, Dr. Doppelt always keeps himself updated with the newest injection techniques. He has attended numerous advanced training seminars including the prestigious ‘Cosmetic Boot Camp’, which is open only to physicians who have aesthetics at the core of their training.
