What is Latisse?
Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the only prescription product FDA approved togrow your lashes longer, fuller and dark in 16 weeks for patients with hypotrichosis or a lack of eyelashes.
Why use Latisse? If you notice thinning eyelashes, shorter and/or lighter eyelashes or you would just like to have thicker more voluminous lashes, then Latisse may be right for you.
How Do You Apply Latisse?
Step 1: Cleanse your face, remove any makeup and contact lenses before applying LATISSE®
Step 2: Remove an applicator from its tray. Then place one drop of LATISSE® on the area of the applicator closest to the tip without letting the bottle touch the brush.
Step 3: Draw the applicator carefully along the skin at the base of the upper eyelashes (where the eyelashes meet the skin) going from the inner part of your lash line to the outer part.
Step 4: Blot any excess solution beyond the eyelid with a tissue.
Step 5: Dispose of the applicator after one use. Repeat for opposite eyelid, using a new, sterile applicator to help minimize any potential for contamination from one eyelid to another.
What are the Potential Side Effects of Latisse?
Fortunately, side effects from Latisse are uncommon. The most common side effect people experienced was redness, irritation and itching of the upper eyelid, which was reversed once Latisse was discontinued. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients in the clinical study. There is no evidence to suggest that Latisse will change your eye color. Millions of prescriptions for Latisse have been filled with no confirmed reports of iris pigmentation issues. Read more from Allergan regarding side effects.
