As the calendar moves to fall, I start to get more frequent requests for moisturizer and night cream recommendations. One of my new favorites is the Triple Lipid Restore by SkinCeuticals. This is not just a moisturizer, it’s an anti-aging treatment that helps skin look fuller, improves skin texture and also helps to minimize the appearance of pores.
It contains a 2:4:2 concentration ration of 2% pure ceramides, 4% natural cholesterol and 2% fatty acids. Studies have shown that this concentration helps to restore lipid-depleted skin, which is actually different from just “dry skin”.
This product is great for aging and dehydrated skin. If I have a patient complaining of skin laxity, roughness or increased pore size, I will point them towards the Triple Lipid Restore. I think of it as nourishment for those with aging skin. Also, if I have someone who is starting on a retinol, I will recommend this product to help counteract the flaking and dryness that can sometimes accompany the early use of retinols.

I have to confess, a coworker started using this product before I did. She saw someone who had not seen her in a few months and this person commented on how dewy and hydrated her skin looked. The only thing she had changed was switching her moisturizer to the Triple Lipid Restore. I immediately started using it and I love it! First, it smells wonderful thanks to a little lavender and also it feels luxurious and rich on my skin, but not heavy. In fact, if you heat it up in your hands, it almost turns to a serum. I enjoy that my skin getting moisture as well as an anti-aging treatment. I feel like I am getting a two in one with this product. Come by the office and try some for yourself!
